How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By Alex

How Sweet It Is To BE Loved By You
James TaylorHow sweet it is to be loved by you
How sweet it is to be loved by you
I needed the shelter of someone's arms and there you were
I needed someone to understand my ups and downs and there you were
With sweet love and devotion
Deeply touching my emotion
I want to stop and thank you baby
I just want to stop and thank you baby
How sweet it is to be loved by you
How sweet it is to be loved by you
I close my eyes at night
Wondering where would I be without you in my life
Everything I did was just a bore
Everywhere I went it seems I'd been there before
But you brighten up for me all of my days
With a love so sweet in so many ways
I want to stop and thank you baby
I just want to stop and thank you baby
How sweet it is to be loved by you
How sweet it is to be loved by you
You were better for me than I was for myself
For me, there's you and there ain't nobody else
I want to stop and thank you baby
I just want to stop and thank you baby
How sweet it is to be loved by you
How sweet it is to be loved by you

My AlbumOctober 27, 2005 (Thursday) - As you know, I was at school to get my class cards and also to pre-register for next semester - my last semester at St. Paul (I'll soon be marching down the aisle 'cos this girl is graduating! Waaahhh!). I didn't think the trip was going to go through honestly 'cos the night before, Alex was telling me all about the things that may hinder our trip from pushing through. But then that Thursday afternoon, I got a call from Alex and he told me (surpise!) the trip is on and we are leaving that night to go to Baguio! He said he had already called up my Dad, asked his permission and he said okay. So there... by 6p.m. as soon as I arrived home, my cousin, Mark and I were already packing our stuff to get ready to leave. By 7p.m., Alex arrived at my place to pick us up. We still ate dinner here, Mark and I (Alex said he already ate dinner so there) then we waited 'til Mom and Dad got back from church to say our goodbyes and finally by 8p.m we left home to go to Alex's house. It was where we were meeting Jonah, his friend who was also going to Baguio with us.
I was able to blog that night using Alex's PC. Mark and Alex's lil' sis, Tintin bonded over the guitar (My cousin so loves music and Tin is a musically inclined girl). By 9.pm., Jonah arrived and we were all set to leave. Tita Rina (Alex's mum) escorted us out and waited with us as we hailed for a cab ride. She even got Alex and me to wear bonnets. We looked hilarious with those hats on actually and Alex and I teased each other about how silly we looked wearing those bonnets. It was a rainy Thursday night but that didn't stop us from leaving Manila to go to Baguio. We took the 11p.m. Victory Liner bus to Baguio. The fare costed P380/head and on that 8 hours trip, I barely slept. It was hard to sleep on a moving bus and also, I was kinda scared to be travelling on a rainy night to Baguio.
October 28, 2005 (Friday) - We arrived at Baguio at around 4:30 a.m. It was also raining there and so it made the already cold climate way colder. Icha and his family, Alex's friend whom we were going to stay in for the next four days were still on their way to Baguio that time so we had no choice but to walk around for awhile without a real destination at hand. We stayed at the Victory Liner station for awhile then afterwards we went to have breakfast at Chowking. It was the only fast food at Baguio that was open 24 hours a day. It was warm inside Chowking and I was so relieved for that! I easily get cold you see. We headed to Burnham Park after breakfast to see if the bike rentals were already open.We took a taxi to get there and we discovered that the cabs there at Baguio did not have airconditioning. But of course it made sense didn't it? It was already cold there. On the way there though, Alex got angry at me.He said it was as if I have completely forgotten that I was with him and at the deserted park, we weren't speaking to each other.I felt like crying that time for I didn't know what it was I really did exactly that pissed him off. By around 7a.m. though, we already had a place to stay.Icha's grandmother who preferred to be called "Nanay" instead of "Lola" had called their house's caretaker and told her about us - Icha's friends who were going to stay there with them. Alex talked to the house's caretaker, Ate Aurora, introduced himself to her and then asked for the directions of the house. We soon found ourselves at Leonila Hills, Road II. The place is etched on my mind already considering we had to mention it to the taxi drivers every single time we took a cab.
Our room or actually, the boys' room was located downstairs and that was where we left all our belongings. Once we were done changing clothers, Alex finally talked to me. I think my cousin talked him to it. I cried and then I apologized for making him feel as though I was deserting him. We made up and things were back to normal between us. While we waited for the owners of the house to arrive, we grabbed the chance to catch up on our sleep. I wasn't able to sleep though Jonah, Mark and Alex didn't have a hard time adjusting. By 12:30 we decided to eat lunch and so we went to SM Baguio City.
What a nice mall SM Baguio is! It was huge and it was an open-air kind of mall.Naturally since the weather is already cold.To build an airconditioned mall on an already called climate is really nonsense. We somehow got to tour the place in our search of a place to eat.We had to find a place to eat that has good food yet cheap. We had a low budget and therefore had to spend our money wisely.I especially had to spend it wisely because I also had to pay for my cousin who's only money with him was about P300.00. It was only enough to get him to Baguio. When we got back home, Icha and his family had arrived.
I met him first then his pregnant girlfriend, Lady. Afterwards I met the rest of his family. At around 7p.m. Alex, Icha, Jonah and Mark all went to pick up Jason, also their high school bud who was going to stay with us. We didn't do any touring that day.We spent the whole day inside the house where I felt cold, alienated and lonely. My excitement when we had arrived had waned down. I had a hard time adjusting to the new place that first day. I felt miserable and seeing Alex so happily joking around and talking with his friends only made it worse for me.Alex noticed it and tried to console me. He even said if I wasn't going to enjoy myself there, then we might as well leave the next day.It would be okay with him, he said for his main purpose in bringing me there was to make me happy. He could bond with his friends some other time he said. But though I was lonely that night, I told him we weren't leaving the next day. I retired to bed at around 11p.m. and slept in a room full of strangers. It was the girls' room I stayed in. I wanted to stay in the same room as the guys did and sleep beside my cousin but house rules were house rules.I couldn't sleep properly though 'cos that room was really cold and I was sleeping beside a pregnant lady (no pun intended to Lady)! Alex on the other hand had a drinking session with his buds and my cousin that night.
October 29, 2005 (Saturday) - I woke up early, at around 8:30 a.m. The sun was shining that day and I was happy to know that. It somehow made the cold weather bearable although I still wore a jacket.Alex woke up next after I did.He awoke after I entered their room to get my facial wash and toothbrush. We ate breakfast there since Icha's family was so kind as to cook breakfast for us as well without letting us pay a single peso for the foods. I spent the morning hanging out with Mark who was chain smoking to battle the cold. We went outside, walked the uphill road to a store to buy snacks and juice. Then we found a parked jeep by the waiting shed to stay in.We spent it talking, eating Rinbee, drinking our Apple Funchum and just hanging out basically. When Manong driver arrived, my cousin asked him if we could stay there for awhile and he said it was okay. We even saw Alex, Jonah and Jason smoking outside but I didn't call them. I was still feeling lonely that time. When they left, Mark asked Manong driver if we could possibly stay inside his jeep and take a road trip. He agreed and Mark and I were able to do some sight seeing. It took about 30 minutes for the jeep to complete the trip and get back to the waiting shed where they waited for passengers. Alex though was nowhere to be found when I got back inside the house and that made me upset again but since I couldn't do anything about it, I decided to just take a bath despite the icy cold water while I waited for his return. It turned out that he, Jason and Jonah were looking for us that time we saw them so that we can all go to SM Baguio to eat lunch. I thought he was angry at me and left me to tend to myself. I was wrong. He apologized and I apologized and he told me we were going out to take a tour of some of Baguio's places to see.
We went to Camp John Hay first with Jonah and Jason.Icha had to go with his family and we were supposed to meet them there but we couldn't reach them.We went on in search of the bike rides/skating and so we walked and walked up the road and when we got there, were disappointed to see that the biking was only done indoors like a bumper car. We went down again and decided to look for the Paintball game. We wanted to play PaintBall but it costed P400/head complete with the costume and 100 bullets. It was too expensive for us so even though we wanted to play, we didn't. The rapelling and sliding costed P100 but Alex said it wasn't worth the money since both would only take about a couple of minutes of fun and that is it.Byebye P100. We also saw the horse ride but again, we didn't think it was worth our money. It costed 260 for 1 hour. None of us knew how to actually ride a horse so we decided to go to Burnham Park.
At Burnham, we went boating. It costed P100 for 30minutes but the caretaker there told us she'll allow us an hour of boat riding for the same price.Jonah and Jason rowed the boat while Alex and I sat beside each other. Mark sat at the back of the boat alone, again smoking. I was in a better mood that time already considering we were already having fun and doing exactly what we should be doing at Baguio in the first place - sight seeing. It was a long but fun boat ride.Alex, Jason, Jonah and Mark were absolutely hilarious! It was funny actually to also see that there are vendors onboard a boat selling taho, balot and ice cream. We stayed there for more than an hour I think but with no extra charge. It was already dark when we docked. After that, we rented bikes. Two sidecars for Alex and me and Jonah and Jason and a BMX for Mark. I was the first to drive the sidecar then Alex asked for us to switch.Jonah and Jason after a few minutes decided to ride a BMX instead of the sidecar they had. They went girl hunting.Alex also decided to switch with my cousin and so Mark ended up as my passenger. He didn't want to be driver. We bought a big Clover Chips snack as we continued riding and were also hit by two other bikers while we were on a stop. There were some spots at the park that were dark.It was really a fun day there! When we got home, we ate dinner and were planning to go to Nevada Square after. It was a place like Libis back here but because Jason, Jonah and Mark were already tired we didn't go there. We stayed inside waiting for Icha and his family to get back. We also prayed the rosary there because Icha's lola called us to join them. After that, they invited us to a sing a-long because they had a magic sing mic.My cousin sang "I'll Be" by Edwin McCain followed by Jason who sang "She Bangs" by Ricky Martin, William Hung style.Hahaha!Jonah didn't sing.He told "Nanay" that he had a sore throat. Alex and I didn't sing either. We both claimed we couldn't sing. The videoke sing a-long was cut short though when Icha and the rest of the family arrived.Icha then decided to hold another drinking session and so they bought Red Horse. This time though, I was able to stay with them inside the room while they held the drinking session. Alex allowed me to drink a couple just to help me sleep.I don't really drink and with every drink of Red Horse, I felt like puking. It tasted bad.Well...at least for me it did.Icha was only able to drink about a glass or two because he came in late from playing PS2 with his cousins. After that, Alex, Mark and I went out and stayed by the backyard with Icha's mom.Alex and Mark smoked yet again.I don't smoke. By 12p.m. though, it was time to say goodnight to Alex again.I had to go back to the girls' room and sleep beside strangers. This time, due to the alcoholic drink I had no trouble sleeping.
October 30, 2005 (Sunday) - I still woke up early, at around 9.am. The sun was again shining. I headed straight to the guys' room and woke Alex up then Mark.He woke up the Jonah and Jason.Icha was already up that morning playing basketball at West Bayan park I think. We ate breakfast again and then went back inside their room to hang out for awhile. We decided then that after lunch, we'd go to Mine's View. They also asked Icha to come but what he wanted to do was play Billiards. But anyway, the group came to a compromised agreement that we would go play Billiards first then we'd go sight seeing at Mine's View. But Icha was not able to go with us to Mine's that afternoon because his pregnant girlfriend, Lady got angry at him. I don't know what. All we saw was Lady walking out and walking fast up the uphill road. So we decided that since we had a hunch Icha won't be able to go just yet, to go to Mine's View already.
There we saw Pinoy Big Bernard, Douglas. He's a huge St. Bernard dog that you can take a picture with for P10/shot. I thought he looked adorable! But Alex, Jonah,Mark and Jason didn't want to get a picture taken with the dog so we moved on down Mine's View. We saw horses as well that you can have a picture taken with, riding on it for about P10 or P20/shot.I wanted to but they didn't so I didn't.When we got further down Mine's View, I saw a very spectacular view of the mountains. It's truly breathtaking! We had pictures taken there using Alex and Jason's camera phones. My film camera was busted so I couldn't take any pictures. We also got our pictures taken on that whatchamacallit thingy where you stick your head on it and have the body of an Igorot both male and female.Alex and I had out pictures taken there.I was the male first and he was the female. It was real cute. Then we visited the souvenir stores there where Alex bought himself a wooden keychain for P10. Jason wanted to buy his mom a sweater but couldn't find one nice enough or cheap enough for his budget. And since Jonah still had a craving for Bulalo, we went to look for a place to eat. They couldn't find one though that they liked so we went.I asked them before we left Mine's to look around the tiangges and look at the nice accessories there.Alex bought me a nice necklace with my initial, "A". I thought it was so sweet of my Alexander to do so.
We ended up eating at TokyoTokyo, SM Baguio for dinner where we waited as well for Icha. I ordered Sumo Pork Tonkatsu and Sumo sized Red Iced Tea drinks for Mark and I to share, Alex ordered Sumo Beef Misono for himself while Jonah and Jason shared a Sumo Beef Misono. It was a very yummy meal so to speak. When we were almost done, Icha together with Lady arrived. They also ate there and while they did, Alex, Jonah and Jason decided to go to Victory Liner to see the what time the departure time of the bus home was. I with Mark was left there with Icha and Lady for company. But we had to leave for awhile as well since Mark wanted to buy a cigarette and I wanted to go to the ladies room. When we got back, it was raining already and Alex, Jonah and Jason had finally arrived. We took a taxi to find a nearby billiards place for them to play. Mark, Lady and I only sat to watch the guys play and occassionally, Mark and I or Alex and I would go out while they had their cigarette break. After a few games, we headed home again. This time though they no longer held a drinking session because they didn't want to wake up late for the next morning, we were leaving. But we did go out in search of an open store to buy a 1.5 Coke and some snacks. Afterwards, I headed up back to the girls' room because they guys' wanted to retire for the night already. When I got there though, Lady told me that I was going to sleep that night at the guys' room because Icha was sleeping there with them.I was of course delighted to know that at last I was sleeping on a room full of familiar people.
October 31, 2005 (Monday) - We all woke up early, Jason, Jonah, Alex, Mark and I at 4:30 a.m. to go to the market to buy pasalubong for our family back at Manila. It was cold out and it was a foggy morning. It was about 6a.m. when we got to the market and we didn't waste much time looking around. We headed to the first store we could find open and bought pasalubong. Alex bought two strawberry jams and a peanut butter while I bought a strawberry jam and 3 for 100 Peanut Brittle. Jason also bought 3 for 100 Peanut Brittle. I'm not sure what Jonah bought. When we spotted a store that sells strawberries for P45 a box Alex and Jason bought themselves a box each. I was going to buy one as well but the guys beat me to the only remaining boxes of strawberries. When we returned home, we packed our bags and got ready to leave. We said our goodbyes to the remaining relatives of Icha there and went to the bus station. We took the Avenida trip of the Philippine Rabbit bus home. The fare costed P373/head, a little cheaper than Victory Liner. But we ate breakfast there though before we rode the bus.It was after all a long trip home! The bus ride was fun. There were only a few passengers on board the bus so Alex and I got to sit beside each other. Mark sat alone with our bag while Alex, Jonah and Jason had their bags placed on the other vacant seats. We arrived home here at Manila at around 3p.m. Jason bid us goodbye then since his route home was different than ours. He lives at Valenzuela. Jonah, Mark, Alex and I took a taxi to Pandancan, to Alex's house. Jonah took a jeep from there while my cousin and I stayed at Alex's for awhile. He even made Ate Maricel, their house helper make us merienda. Guess what it was? Bread with strawberry jam spread and peanut butter spread and a 1.5 Coke. Alex took us home at around 7p.m. but he didn't stay long. Though I was disappointed he didn't stay, I understood that he was also tired from our long trip home.
